JSC "VTI" was held III international scientific-technical Conference "Use of solid fuels for efficient and environmentally friendly production of electricity and heat"
On the 28 – 29 of June 2016 All-Russia Thermal Engineering Institute (JSC “VTI”) has organized III scientific-technical international Conference "Use of solid fuels for efficient and environmentally friendly production".
Conference was organized with the support and participation of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, JSC "INTER RAO", Fund "Energy without borders", Center of Standardization, Certifying and Testing. The Conference has got the international support of such respectable organizations as: World Energy Council (WEC), Center for clean coal technologies (IEA Clean Coal Centre), European Technical Association of manufacturers of electric and heat generation (VGB Power Tech e.V.).
The informational support was provided by: magazine "Electric power stations", the magazine "Energetik" portal "Electron.ru" technology platform "Environmentally friendly heat power of high efficiency", magazine "news of heat power supply", information system on heat suppling "Rosteplo.ru", magazine "Heat Power energy", news Agency "Energo-press, Journal "News in electric power industry", portal "Control of utilities", "Nauchtechlitizdat", Journal-guide "Market of electrical engineering", the Magazine "ELECTRIC", JSC "Rosinformugol", Journal "energy security and energy efficiency."
Conference was attended by more than 70 participants. Among them technical top management of power companies, coal energy specialists, personal of domestic engineering companies, power plants and manufacturers of equipment, research and design organizations. In the Conference also took part top foreign experts, including representatives of leadership of World Energy Council, European Technical Association of manufacturers of thermal and electric energy - VGB, foreign research organizations and universities. In addition to participants from Russia, the great success had reporters from UK, Germany, China, Malaysia, Estonia and Kazakhstan.
In total participants presented 46 reports in frames of Conference sessions and discussed such interesting issues as:
- development of coal power in Russia and worldwide;
- coal-fired power units;
- new construction and technical re-equipment;
- reduction of harmful emissions of TPP, etc.
The round table discussion "Current status and prospects of gasification of solid fuels use" was organized during the Conference.
Presented at the Conference reports were published in the proceedings. It is necessary to point out that most of presentations were of high scientific and technical level. Conference materials contained practical and useful recommendations. Results, proposals and vies stated in reports were actively discussed on conversations during every of session. Such meetings and disputes became of great importance and helpful for participants. In addition they contributed to establishing perspective business contacts with Russian and foreign companies and organizations.
The Conference on solid fuels became one of major Russian power industry international events. It specified ways of coal energy further development. Conference results will help specialists to work out recommendations on the most effective ways and fields of investigations.
